Melodics Review
Application software download free Windows
Once you've downloaded Melodics to your PC you can run it without an internet connection but to get the full experience you'll need to be connected to the internet at least once per day to sync. This will keep you up to date with new lessons, practice goals, song previews and certain images.
If you lose your connection to the internet, it's easy enough to restart the app and pick up where you left off. You'll be reminded each time you start the app if you haven't been online recently.
Lessons are graded and I was really impressed by the range of difficulties on offer. The pedagogy behind this is clearly explained on the Melodics website and I'd say they do a very good job of finding that ideal difficulty level; not too easy or too hard.
I also really like the fact that lessons can be customised and personalised to fit your own music preferences. The selection of genres on offer is very comprehensive and they're constantly adding to it. Whether you're interested in trap, ambient, chill or more obscure dance styles there's something here for everyone.
The app is compatible with a wide variety of MIDI keyboards, pad controllers and electronic drum kits. Sam and the team have also pre-mapped lots of popular controllers so you should be able to connect yours straight away. I think the MIDI support is one of the best things about Melodics.
